What Urology Conditions Can't Be Treated Online?
Telehealth is excellent for ED, BPH symptom management, recurrent UTI prevention, overactive bladder, low testosterone, and pelvic floor triage. It is not appropriate for acute kidney stones, gross hematuria, acute urinary retention, suspected testicular torsion, or suspected cancer — these require in-person evaluation, imaging, or procedures.

Acute scrotal pain (possible torsion — a surgical emergency), visible blood in urine, suspected kidney stones with severe pain, urinary retention, suspected prostate or bladder cancer based on PSA, exam, or imaging.
Often telehealth-appropriate
ED, BPH lifestyle and medical management, recurrent UTI prevention, OAB medication management, low testosterone after initial labs, post-operative follow-up.
